The Beach Hut, Newquay – review

What a way to end our Cornwall weekend, but with some surfing and a pot of fresh mussels at The Beach Hut in Watergate Bay.

The restaurant/cafe has wonderful views across the sea, where you can watch a surf hunk or two carving up some pearlers, and its wooden floors leave sandy trails of the day’s beachgoers. The menu is inventive and refreshing with, as you would expect, lots of seafood options and many dishes with asian influences.

Always a sucker for mussels, I ordered a large bowl of moule marinere served with ciabatta and added a portion of chips for dipping. Lush.

My eat of the week

  • Moules marinere withg ciabatta – £17
  • Fries – £2.50
